Josephus's Longer Passage About Jesus
Scholars propose a wholly authentic passage, a full insertion, or a shorter notice expanded by a Christian copyist. The third view is common. Exact wording cannot be recovered. The passage is neither untouched proof nor a problem to hide.

What Can Safely Be Concluded
It rejects the claim that Jesus was invented centuries later. It does not decide Christian and Islamic theology. That requires the earliest teachings and the Quran's revelation.

Josephus on James, the Brother of Jesus
Paul calls James 'the Lord's brother' in Galatians 1:19. Most historians read this as family. Catholic and Eastern Orthodox traditions propose close relative or stepbrother. Either way, James was an early leader linked to Jesus.

history
Tacitus and the Roman Record
Tacitus shows what Romans knew by the early second century. He was not an eyewitness. Historians debate his sources. His report supports Jesus and an early execution tradition, not atonement.

History and Revelation Answer Different Questions
The Quran affirms Jesus as Messiah and a word created by God's command (3:45). It rejects the claim that enemies killed him (4:157). Islam affirms his reality and calls people back to the God he worshiped.

Quran
And [for] their saying, "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah." And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain.
